If you have a large number of lists this can affect the performance of your account. When creating campaigns, or performing other action that require you to choose a list, this can become slow or become difficult to find the list you want. We recommend either deleting or archiving lists that you no-longer use. Note that when deleting a list this will delete all data connected to the list including all campaigns that have been sent to it. If you need to keep data then we recommend archiving instead.
To archive a list, when viewing your list of lists, click on the gear icon to the far right of the list and then click on the Archive button. Your list will be moved to the archive. You can un-archive it at any time. Archived lists will no-longer be available to choose when creating an email campaign, or performing other actions that require you to choose a list, but the list and all of it's data will remain in your account.
If you have a large number of lists this is often because you are creating a new list for every campaign you send, we consider this bad practice as it may result in continuing to send to people who have unsubscribed form your previous lists. When someone unsubscribes they are unsubscribed from just that list, so if you are creating a new list for each mail-out you may be inadvertently continuing to send to your unsubscribes. It is better to update and maintain a single list so that unsubscribe data is not lost. When importing into an existing list unsubscribes are not re-subscribed. If you must create and upload a new list each time then please make sure you are removing unsubscribes from your spreadsheet before importing, please see Managing your lists outside of BoltMail
P.S. If you are seeing a warning message about the number of lists you have and you don't want to take any action that's perfectly fine! Just click the little "x" on the far right of the message to dismiss it, you wont see the message again for a while.
